Lorna Govier has enjoyed playing harp since the age of eleven. She began performing solo Celtic harp for weddings and special occasions at fourteen and has continued to do so throughout high school, college and finally, professionally. When she moved to Tucson in 2005, she met Mary Bouley and the two hit it off musically and magically.
From 2005-2006, Lorna enjoyed playing a very enjoyable stint with Mary, as well as several other fine Celtic musicians, in Tucson Celtic band Trim the Velvet. Lorna and Mary created the Gemini Duo in 2005 and play thier harps at weddings, special occasions and concerts.
Mary Bouley began her harp studies with Patricia Harris, principal harpist for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Mary specializes in traditional Celtic music and performs at many weddings and local events, including the Emerald Ball, the Tucson Folk Festival and Tir na Nog. Mary has performed with a variety of bands, including the New Potatoes, Trim the Velvet and Celtic Reel.
